Q. Is there a Linux version of the Windows BpqTerm. I'd like something better than telnet?

Q. What do the status codes mean? . They are N, Y, F, K, H, D, S.
A.
N – not read
Y – read
F – forwarded to all recipients
K – Killed
H – Held
D – Delivered (NTS Messages only)
$ (dollar sign, not S) Bulletin not forwarded to all recipients.
Q. With regard to the buttons with the station/BBS calls there are three states: greyed out, bold protruding and bold recessed. What does a recessed indication mean:
There is a key to the button states at the bottom of the display:
Greyed – don’t send to this station
Protruding – send to this station
Recessed – already sent to this station.
